Civilization Carthaginian , also called civilization Punic , takes its origins in the founding of the famous city of Carthage by Phoenicians , on the shores of present-day Tunisia in 814 BC. JC .
It kept the customs and language of the Phoenicians, but over the centuries experienced a certain interbreeding between Phoenician colonists and Libyan indigenous peoples.
